RE: HSC INFORMATION EVENING: 6.00 – 7.00 p.m., Wednesday 25th October, 2017
With the completion of their examinations in the final week of Term 3, Year 11 students concluded their Preliminary Higher School Certificate Course. Following feedback on their examination performance, students commenced their Higher School Certificate program in term 4, 2017. This timeframe allows students four school terms to complete their HSC program.
As you will recall from our Year 11 Parent Information Evening, the minimum number of units of study for the award of a HSC is 10 units.
Students who wish to adjust their units of study (either by taking an Extension course or discontinuing another course) should complete the following:
- Discuss proposed pattern of study with the Deputy Principal Mr Gane and receive a "Senior Change of Course Request" form.
- Complete this form, ensuring that signed parental and Head Teacher approvals have been included and all textbooks and equipment have been returned.
- Return the completed form to Mr Gane for final approval.
- Changes become effective when each student receives an approval for the course change requested.
Your child's successful negotiation of his/her HSC program is very important, therefore you and your son/daughter are invited to attend the HSC Information Evening to be held in the School Performance Space on Wednesday, 25th October, 2017 commencing at 6.00pm and concluding at 7.00pm.
At this evening:
- Each student will receive his/her copy of the school's HSC Assessment Handbook.
- School support structures, plus NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) and Department of Education requirements will be explained.
To assist the school in its planning for the evening, you may wish to email (huntershd-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au) with your questions regarding your child's negotiation of his or her HSC year. With this assistance, the school will structure its presentation for the evening.
